Here we go for yet another episode of the world’s fattest fighter.
Naw I’m just kidding it’s The Ultimate fighter 10: Heavyweights
I’ll try to keep the commentary minimum on this one, I know I was a little extra with it last week.
“I wanted to apologize to the door but it was too late…” – Rampage Jackson
“You don’t want to be a door around here…” –Dana White
“Why you ripping down a door, fool?” -Rashad Evans
I never thought that comments about a temper tantrum could be so entertaining.
I think that Rashad is going out of his way to make Rampage seem a lot more like a douchebag than he really is. Granted Rampage is not helping his cause but I’m still noticing that Rashad has a comment for everything, which is pretty irritating. It’d be more accepting if Rampage wasn’t such a clown but because he’s blatantly joking at times it’s kind of hard to see Rashad’s reactions. I’ve made a point to watch some of the extended scenes on ufc.com and Rashad is kind of jerk in his own right. So we have a clown on one end and a jerk on the other. Who’s going to win? I don’t know which is why I think they need to fight. I’ll be happy when his fake retirement is over.
Back to the episode Marcus Jones is the last man standing on Team Rampage. We also have Mike Wessel on the other side as the last man standing for Team Rashad.
It’s going to take me a longer time to write this article than the fight took. Marcus Jones had three submission opportunities in 30 seconds but as it turns out he would only need one. Matt Wessel had a poor game plan for this fight as he was the much smaller fighter. It makes little sense fora fighter that size to try and take down the bigger fighter. This would be the time you’d want to attack and evade. I would love to see Marcus Jones against Lesnar, if his jiu jitsu is solid and I’m sure we’ll see more of it, it’d be like seeing a bigger and stronger Frank Mir which would be a much better match-up.
Anyways let me stop crowning Marcus king before he’s really done anything, but I’m excited that he’s good. I wanted him to be good and he has a solid ground game. If they work on his standup a little bit I think he’ll do really well.
Now the quarterfinal match-ups are set and I am liking what I see. Wren v. Nelson is first up and I think Justin is going to give Roy some genuine problems, although Roy doesn’t seem to think so.
Anyways, things appear to be getting good now. Tune in next week.
